Jon’s work revolves around visual storytelling and exploring the nuances of interpersonal connection across cultures. He regularly lenses films across the U.S. and Asia; screening at over 100 respected film festivals across the world, including Cannes, Sundance and Busan Film Festival.

Among his works are ‘Little Big Women’, the highest grossing Taiwanese movie of 2020 which was nominated for six Golden Horse Awards; and ‘Before You Know It’, nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance Film Festival 2019. At home in Singapore, he is known for his work with acclaimed director Glen Goei on the box office hit, ‘Revenge of the Pontianak’.

A graduate of the American Film Institute (AFI) Conservatory, Jon’s recent films include ‘Pinball: The Man Who Saved The Game’, The New Yorker’s top 10 films of 2023, and the Netflix original ‘A Tourist’s Guide To Love’, which peaked as the number one streamed film worldwide.

Jon is a recipient of the American Society of Cinematographers (ASC) Vision Mentorship as well as one of the few Southeast-Asian members of the International Cinematographers Guild (ICG).
